Tarja Turunen - Solid Women Power Rocks Bavaria
Munich [ENA] These days, Tarja Turunen, the Finnish soprano singer, who launched her musical career on the classical field, is touring across Germany, to present her new album 'What Lies Beneath'. Supported by Kells and Leaves' Eyes, bands with a lineup similar to the headliners – A Lady on the Mike.
Originally Tarjas Munich event on May 06th was announced to happen at Circus Krone, but then it was relocated to the Backstage Club, a location with cult status, called by insider circles, being anything but a 'castle' to celebrate a Rock 'n Roll Queen. Nevertheless the audience, aged from teen to grandpa, at the almost sold out concert hall was wild and happy, full with anticipation looking forward to the next two hours.
Almost on schedule the show started -although with a surprise. Instead of the supporting act Leaves' Eyes from Germany, Kells, the band from France started the show.Their repertoire: melodic metal sound, shot through by gothic elements, the perfect appetizer for this Friday night loud and heavy menu. The second course of the dinner: Leaves' Eyes, rolling out the red napkin for Tarja, so to speak. Their Symphonic/Gothic Metal goodies garnished with northern influences, if for nothing else, singer Liv Kristine is Norwegian.
Finally at 10 p.m. 'Queen Tarja', along with her 'entourage', entered the stage to serve the entree after which her fans were longing. With a powerful, three octaves spanning voice the attractive Finn was belting out the songs of her latest opus and also several ones of yesteryears. Combinated with choreographic consummation and the joy of playing of her band this performance turned out as perfect – provided, one likes this kind of music.
